The DNA polymerase and the reverse transcriptase are two of the main enzyme used in molecular biology. While the DNA polymerase enzyme mdiates the DNA amplification in the PCR, the reverse transcriptase enzyme allows the reverse transcription of RNA to complementary cDNA, enabling that RNA templates (such as RNA viruses) can also be detected by PCR. Additionally, our monoclonal Hot-Start PCR antibody can be used as an ideal tool to enhance the specificity of the PCR due to the antibody-mediated inactivation of the Hot-Start DNA polymerase.
