Cryopreservation is a critical step in the cell therapy workflow. Studies have shown that DMSO may cause cytotoxicity, cell membrane damage, altered intracellular signaling, increased oxidative stress, and trigger immune responses, which may hinder the therapeutic potential of cell products.

CaseCryo® NON-DMSO is a chemically defined freezing medium with optimized alternative cryoprotectants eliminating the need for DMSO. This medium has been specially formulated and empirically tested for the cryopreservation of human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs), DMSO-sensitive cells, and other human cell types.
