PBMCs (MNCs)

Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) consist of lymphocytes (T cells, B cells, and NK cells), monocytes, and dendritic cells, distinguished by the presence of a single round nuclei. Mononuclear cells are isolated from leukapheresis (Leukopaks) when high numbers of MNCs are required. Cellular subpopulations (i.e., T cells) can be further isolated from mononuclear cells using immunomagnetic separation technologies.
Mononuclear cells are important medical research tools in a multitude of areas, including immunology, infectious diseases, disease modeling, biomarker identification, and personalized medicine.
